Thought for the Week – Sunday 5th July 2020

COME TO ME ALL YOU WHO LABOUR AND ARE OVERBURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST’ (St Matthew 11:28)

Jesus’ comforting invitation, above, goes out to all of us. In times of trial, God is always there for us – not to magically resolve our problems, but to journey with us, strengthen us and share in the crosses that we carry. So, whatever demands life may make on us, whatever difficulties or pain we may be experiencing, we are asked to open our heart to the God of all consolation. When we to turn to Him with humble and child-like simplicity, with trust in His will and love for us, then the grace of the inner peace of Jesus will be ours.
‘Shoulder my yoke and learn from me……you will find rest for your souls.’
