Congratulations to all the boys and girls who celebrated their First Penance and First Holy Communion on Friday and Saturday. Even though we are living in very different times and have had to make some necessary changes to the usual format of celebration, it was great to be able to come together to be part of this wonderful moment in the faith journeys of these young people. Thank you to all who helped in any way to make it such a memorable occasion.
We ask God’s blessing on all the boys and girls and on their families in the years ahead as they take up their new place in the life of the parish faith community. May they grow deeper in their faith through the strength of the Holy Eucharist and in their desire to receive the Lord in Communion as often as they can.
Upcoming Parish Event:
CONFIRMATION:
The sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated in the parish on Saturday 15th August. In preparation for all who are receiving the sacrament this year, a special Afternoon of Reflection will take place on Sunday 9th August in the parish community centre in Lifford (beside Lifford NS) from 2.30 pm until 4.30pm.
Please note that all children who are presenting for Confirmation need to attend this event because it will also be the time when they will have to register for the sacrament. They are asked to bring their own pen or pencil as there will be some writing exercises to be undertaken and also to bring their own refreshments, especially water or juice if needs be.
It will also be essential that they will have chosen a name of a Saint as their Confirmation name, as this will form part of the afternoon exercises.
The times for Confirmation on Saturday 15th August are as follows:
10.30 am. Murlog NS
1.30 pm. Cloughfin NS and Lifford NS

In order to keep everyone safe, and because some of our parishioners may be a little fearful of coming into a larger crowd, there are two additional Masses in the Summer Schedule. The Bishops have agreed to suspend the ’Sunday’ obligation during this time. To assist people, everyone who is part of our faith community is asked to attend one Mass in the week if you feel able to do so. e.g. You may decide to attend the Monday morning Mass, or the Thursday evening Mass as your weekly commitment to your faith. Those who were in the habit of attending Mass daily, are still welcome to do so.
