‘Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid.’ St Matthew: 14:27

In His reassuring command, ‘Do not be afraid’ (the most frequent command of Jesus to His disciples), Jesus acknowledges that faith and trust in God, in the midst of the storms and fears of our lives, takes courage. We gain that courage and confidence through remaining close to Jesus in prayer. Just as Jesus came in the midst of the storm on the lake to reassure His frightened disciples, so too is He there to comfort us when we bring our fears before Him with trust in His will.
