SUNDAY 17th APRIL 2022

EASTER SUNDAY
This day was made by the Lord – we rejoice and are glad! (Psalm 117)

The Easter celebrations form the heart of our Christian living. We have journeyed in Holy week through the darkness of betrayal and abandonment towards the light of forgiveness and new life in the Resurrection of Jesus, the fulfilment of God’s love for us. As an Easter people, we pray that the blessings, the joys, the wonders and the challenges of this holy day will renew us in spirit and encourage us to be faithful witnesses and beacons of God’s love and mercy.

Christ is risen! Alleluia!

Please note: there is no Mass in our parish on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

SINCERE THANKS to all who helped or participated in any way to make our Lenten, Holy Week and Easter liturgies so special and uplifting. We are grateful in particular to our Scripture readers, Eucharistic Ministers and our choirs. Special thanks to those who organise the rotas. Our Liturgy Working Group paid detailed attention to tying in the décor in our church with the liturgical theme each week, greatly enhancing our liturgies. Sincere thanks also to our faithful Rosary Group, who are there each weekday to recite the Rosary, not just during Lent but throughout the year; this is a very special time of prayer for our parish each morning. Thank you, as always, to Hugh for his faithful dedication.

NAOMH PADRAIG LEIFEAR:

Carpark Bingo at the Clubhouse Carpark on Easter Monday, 18 April. Cost of books is €10 each. Over €1,000 in prizes to be won. Come early: Eyes Down at 6.30pm sharp!

I take this opportunity to wish you and your families every blessing this Easter. May the joys of the Resurrection fill your hearts and homes with peace these Easter days. Enjoy the break, and take extra care and attention when out and about on the roads over the holiday period.
Thank you, as always, for your prayerful support, your friendship, kindness and good wishes to me. They are greatly appreciated. May God bless you all. Fr Colm.
