Parish Newsletter for Easter Sunday 9th April 2023

EASTER SUNDAY 9th April 2023:

The Easter celebrations form the heart of our Christian living. We have journeyed in Holy week through the darkness of betrayal and abandonment towards the light of forgiveness and new life in the Resurrection of Jesus, the fulfilment of God’s love for us. As an Easter people, we pray that the blessings, the joys, the wonders and the challenges of this holy day will renew us in spirit and encourage us to be faithful witnesses and beacons of God’s love and mercy.

THANK YOU for your generosity in last week’s collection, which amounted to €2,863.00

SINCERE THANKS to all who helped or participated in any way in our Lenten, Holy Week and Easter Masses and ceremonies. We are grateful in particular to our Scripture readers, Eucharistic Ministers and our choirs, whose ministries are integral to meaningful and uplifting liturgies. Thank you to our Liturgy Working Group, who make sure that the church décor is in keeping with the liturgical theme. Your ministry is greatly appreciated and, again, integral to giving focus to our liturgies. We are very grateful also to our First Holy Communion children, who helped us in such a memorable way to celebrate Palm Sunday! Thank you!
Sincere thanks, as always, to our faithful Rosary Group, who recite the Rosary every day, not just during Lent but throughout the year, starting each day in a very special time of prayer in our church and parish. Thank you to Hugh for his faithful dedication to his duties and for keeping our church so well at all times. We are grateful, also, to our groundsmen who keep the grounds and outside looking so well.
Thank you all for your participation in our Holy Week ceremonies. It was a privilege for me to celebrate the events of Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter with you and I very much look forward to celebrating the rest of the Easter season with you.

I wish you and your families every good wish and blessing this Easter. May the joys of the Resurrection fill your hearts and homes with peace, joy and love. Stay safe when you are out and about over the Easter break and enjoy the holiday period. Thank you for your kindness, support and generosity to me; it is very much appreciated. May God bless you all. Fr Colm.
