Parishes of Camus, Clonleigh and LeckpatrickEaster Day of the Lord’s Resurrection – Year C – 20th April 2025 Parish Clergy Fr Michael McCaughey, PP: (028) 71882274 / (028) 71882215 Fr Declan Boland (priest in residence)Email: leckpatrickparish@derrydiocese.org; Website: www.leckpatrickparish.comEmail: strabaneparish@derrydiocese.org; Website: www.camusparish.com Email: clonleighparish@derrydiocese.org; Website: www.clonleighparish.comLifford Parish Office: tel: 003537491 42001No One Expected The ResurrectionThe Gospel readings for both the Vigil and the Mass of Easter Day report the utter confusion of Jesus’ followers. No one seems to have expected anything like a resurrection. We are not unlike those first followers. Though we know well the Easter story, we never seem fully to grasp its meaning. Like them, we so often continue to live burdened with our dashed hopes and with our misunderstanding of God’s mysterious power. Like them, we come to the tomb and expect to find death, but instead we find signs of a new life that we cannot even begin to comprehend. Like them, we do not realise that our history has been broken open and is now filled with the resurrected presence of Christ. Our faith assures us that the tomb is empty because Jesus has risen; it assures us that death has been swallowed up by life. Easter is a time to celebrate life, to value life in all of its forms and at all of its stages. A wondrous world of mystery has opened up before us, inviting us to step into it. Lord, by your cross and resurrection you have set us free. You are the Saviour of the World. Easter Blessings We, the priests of the parish thank you for your prayers and encouragement, certainly at this time. We wish all of you the blessings of the Easter Season. We offer a special prayer for our sick, our housebound and those who have been bereaved recently. The love of Christ surround you, the light of Christ lead you,the peace of Christ embrace you, the joy of Christ fill you,the presence of Christ be with you always. Please Note: Mass will be celebrated at 11 am in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strabane from Monday 21st April – Saturday 26th April.
