FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Saturday (15 August) was the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, when we celebrate Mary’s assumption, body and soul, into heavenly glory, honouring the fullness and blessedness that was Her destiny. Normally, the Assumption is a Holy Day of Obligation, but the current Holy Day dispensation means that there is no obligation to attend Mass. Mass for the Feast Day (15th August) will be celebrated this Monday 17th August at our masses at 9.30 am and 6.30 pm.
Queen, assumed into heaven: pray for us.

Please note that that collection boxes will be available at each Mass so that you can make your weekly contribution.

In order to keep everyone safe, and because some of our parishioners may be a little fearful of coming into a larger crowd, there are two additional Masses in the Summer Schedule. The Bishops have agreed to suspend the ’Sunday’ obligation during this time. To assist people, everyone who is part of our faith community is asked to attend one Mass in the week if you feel able to do so. e.g. You may decide to attend the Monday morning Mass, or the Thursday evening Mass as your weekly commitment to your faith. Those who were in the habit of attending Mass daily, are still welcome to do so.
