Welcome Back!

Dear parishioners and friends,
It is with great joy that the doors of our Church are open again from 29th June for the Mass, liturgies and special spiritual occasions for our faith community.
While the pandemic is still not over, a number of protocols have had to be put in place. I ask your help in keeping you safe and in keeping others safe.
One day, God willing, we will return to a more usual and natural way of doing things, until then, we are all asked to adjust to the advice given to us from the diocese, in line with civic guidelines. Please make let others know of the temporary protocols.
Thank you to everyone for your support, your attendance via webcam, your faithful contributions of envelopes throughout the months, the quiet witness of those who came for private prayer, and the many, the very many, who faithfully visited the graves. You are a wonderful faithful people and I am delighted to be able to lead you in prayer and to have the joy of saying to each one of you: “The doors are open! Welcome back to your spiritual home.”

Fr Colm.

The Bishops have agreed to suspend the ’Sunday’ obligation during this time. To assist people, everyone who is part of our faith community is asked to attend one Mass in the week if you feel able to do so. e.g. You may decide to attend the Monday morning Mass, or the Thursday evening Mass as your weekly commitment to your faith. Those who were in the habit of attending Mass daily, are still welcome to do so.

BAPTISMS:

It is lovely that several of our young parents have already made contact seeking a
suitable time for the sacrament of Baptism for their newborn child.
During this Summer Schedule, Fr Colm is happy to facilitate Baptisms as much as possible. Please contact the Parish Office directly or via the ‘Get in Touch’ section of the website.

FIRST COMMUNIONS:
The dates for the First Holy Communion in our Parish have now been re-sheduled. First Holy Communion will be celebrated at two Masses on the 25th July with the children of Lifford and Cloughfin schools receiving the Sacrament at 10.30am Mass and the children of Murlog National School at 1.30pm Mass. Also, the day before, Friday 24th July, the children will celebrate the Sacrament of First Confession.

CONFIRMATIONS:
The Bishop has asked that Confirmations will take place in parishes throughout the diocese towards the end of August. More details will be published as soon as the parish receives further guidance.
