Parish Newsletter for Sunday 10th July 2022

SUNDAY 10th JULY 2022:

FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR C)
The well-known parable of the Good Samaritan sums up God’s call to us in the Commandments, to love God and love our neighbour. It calls on us to examine our attitudes and response to others to whom we can provide love, care and support, not just in a passive way but in a proactive way. Our ‘neighbour’ is not just someone who lives nearby whom we can easily call in on or help: our neighbour is any person, anywhere, to whom we can spread the message of the Gospel, through Christian and charitable actions and words.
We are asked today to refresh our understanding of love of God and love of neighbour through reflecting on the Ten Commandments in the context of the Beatitudes, through which Jesus brought a greater understanding of the Commandments.
