TWENTY- NINTH SUNDAY ORDINARY TIME : MISSION SUNDAY

GOSPEL: St John 17:11, 17-23

The special Gospel selected for Mission Sunday is taken from Jesus’ discourse with His disciples at the Last Supper about the spreading of the Gospel message. Just as the Father sent Jesus into the world to spread His love, Jesus will now send His disciples to carry on His earthly mission. He prays that they will know God’s love and that they will be united with God and one another in their mission. As the disciples of today, we pray that, through our example, we will share and spread the Good News of the Gospel, so that others will get to know Jesus and the joy of building God’s kingdom. Renewed in commitment to our missionary call, we pray:
‘Let us be servants to one another, making Your kingdom come’
