May God bless all of us in this our Jubilee Year in the parish of Clonleigh.
May He bless our church, dedicated to St Patrick, and all who worship in it.
May He bless all the families of our parish.
We pray that, in our daily lives this jubilee year, we will do our best,

CONGRATULATIONS and Well Done to the boys and girls who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Wednesday evening.  It was a lovely celebration, greatly enhanced by the lovely displays that you had prepared for the occasion. Thank you to the teachers and parents.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the start our Jubilee celebrations such a special occasion last weekend: to Sion Mills Pipe Band, to Orla and the Porter School of Dancing (Nia, Sophie, Katie, Amber, Hannah, Eimear, Harper), to Maeve Mellon and our choir, to the school-children for their wonderful displays for the church, to our liturgy working group, who decorated the sanctuary so beautifully, to Brian Gallagher for donating the lovely shamrocks, to the groundsmen who, as ever, had our grounds looking so well and erected the bunting, banners and flags. Thank you to Paddy McKinney for raising the parish flag!
Most of all, thank you to everyone who came along for the celebration of our Mass and to our readers and Eucharistic Ministers. It is lovely to hear all the memories that are being stirred from over the years!

MASS OF CHRISM:

Bishop McKeown will celebrate the annual Mass of Chrism with the priests of the diocese in St Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry, on Holy Thursday morning (28 March) at 10 o’clock. During Mass the holy Oils for Baptism, Confirmation, Anointing of the Sick and Ordination, for use in the churches of the diocese, are blessed. Also, the priests of the diocese renew their Ordination promises. It is the only Mass celebrated in the diocese on Holy Thursday morning. Everyone is welcome to attend the Chrism Mass, or you are welcome join in it via the St Eugene’s parish webcam: www.steugenescathedral.com/webcam.html

HOLY LAND (Pro Terra Sancta) COLLECTION will be taken up at our Holy Thursday Mass. There is no envelope for this collection, which is taken up in churches throughout the world: Christians of the Holy Land heavily rely on it to meet the costs of the preservation of the sacred sites and shrines where Jesus was present while on earth.

TROCAIRE COLLECTION:

The Trocaire Lenten Boxes should be returned this week. There will be a basket in the church from Holy Thursday onwards.
Malawi is the focus of this year’s campaign. The Trócaire Box features Malita with two of her six children, 12-year-old twins, Patricia and Patrick, at their home in Malawi. Their story is unfortunately one that is typical of so many families, as they struggle every day with the many problems relating to access to water.DIVINE MERCY NOVENA: Many people like to pray this Novena for the nine days from Good Friday (29 March) until the first Saturday of Easter (6 April), leading into Divine Mercy Sunday (7 April). For those who would like to pray it but do not have a copy of it, you can access it on: https://divinemercy.life/the-divine-mercy-novena/

WELCOME to the First Holy Communion children to our Do This in Memory Mass today.

KATH AND QUMEN send their congratulations to you on receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time this week and on the lovely displays that you did as part of your preparation for receiving the sacrament. They are delighted that you are helping to make Palm Sunday such a special day for the parish, through your participation in procession, waving palms, reminding us of the welcome for Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. Kath and Qumen remind us that this special day is the start of the week in which Jesus would show his greatest love for us, through dying on the Cross, that we might have eternal life. We thank Jesus today for leaving us the great gift of the Eucharist.
